We are currently recruiting for a General Manager to join our Projects Division in Cork on a full-time, permanent contract. The successful applicant will be predominately based in the Cork area but will be expected to travel within the Munster region to meet the needs of the business. Responsibilities include the sourcing and management of business opportunities in the Munster region whilst overseeing the successful delivery of projects in terms of both time, standards and budget. This role will manage the scheduling, resourcing and delivery of pre-agreed business margins whilst co-ordinating all personnel within the region.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead opportunities from the concept stage right through to completion, to include defining the technical and commercial requirements of said opportunity
- Create and develop plans as per the scope of works to include defining a timeline, managing costs and establishing the resources required, whilst ensuring profitability
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with the client, suppliers and other partners
- Manage client concerns and ensure they are dealt with in a thorough and timely manner
- Lead, develop and retain employees whilst ensuring the successful delivery of an efficient and effective service within the region
- Planning of all resources including labour, materials and subcontractors
- Manage the procurement process for all opportunities to include the pricing of contracts, projects and tenders within the region
- Manage, drive and grow the regional team to meet all customer requirements and deadlines
- Manage, direct and co-ordinate the activities of contracted personnel and/or third parties
- Manage and authorise the staffing requirements within the region (i.e. overtime) and notify the HR
- Department of any unscheduled absences. Staffing requirements should be documented and reviewed weekly
- Ensure that records are maintained and updated as required
- Provide the Operations Manager with reports and updates on the progress of opportunities within the region
- Oversee the successful implementation of Company systems to include Safe Work Plans, Method
- Statements and Risk Assessments, Quality Plans etc.
- Ensure all opportunities are completed to the highest specification in terms of Quality, Health and
- Safety along with client satisfaction
- Proactively enhance and improve the service delivered by Sensori Facilities Management
- Maintain excellent relationships with all clients whilst actively supporting business development by seeking out new business opportunities for Sensori Facilities Management within the region
- Ensure successful commissioning and handover of projects in accordance with procedure
- Analyse budgetary information to assist in both monthly and annual budgetary forecasting
- Support both customer and Company audits, ensuring that optimum results are achieved
- Support the Projects Division in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establishing exceptional working relationships with both your colleagues and the client.
- Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
- Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Degree qualified in either an engineering discipline or with a Trade background
- Minimum of 15 years’ extensive experience in a fast-paced construction environment
- In-depth knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Construction industry is essential
- Proven leadership capabilities with solid commercial and financial awareness
- Excellent people management skills while delivering exceptional customer service
- Proven Health and Safety awareness with a thorough understanding of quality systems
- Strong understanding of financial and budgetary control (labour and subcontractors)
- Proficient in IT literacy with the ability to collate and generate detailed reports
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
